Social Studies includes History, Geography, Culture, Government, and Civics. We do not include Economics that will be under electives.

Social Studies is another fun subject with lots of choices. You can study an overall area or research a specific topic. K-8th it is a good idea to get an overall understanding of history and geography, don’t forget to include map skills. In High school specific courses should be listed each year such as US History, which can be divided into 1 and 2 or just one year; World History can also be divided into 1 and 2; US Government including an understanding of the constitution and civics, are very important to know before leaving high school; a deeper dive into Geography or a specific topic such as your state history, a country or region you are interested in or genealogy, a study of your own family history and surrounding events. You can also divide history into Ancient, Middle Ages, Modern, etc. A minimum of 2 Social Studies credits are required to graduate. I recommend taking more but if you only take 2 make them good.
